March 2011

Dear Fellow SKALleagues,

It is with mixed emotions that this will be my last opportunity as president to thank you all for your support during this past Miami SKAL Club's year. Together and with a proactive membership chairman we stabilized and grew the membership base in spite of challenging business conditions. All our members support and efforts throughout the year contributed to a healthy Miami Club and its future.

We also worked closely with our dedicated program chair and held outstanding monthly club dinners "linking business with friends" including a successful revived "Florida Keys" summer retreat. All of our events this past year were held at unique venues thanks to the generosity of our hosts and numerous club members who were recognized in my monthly messages.

With so many engaged members we opened the opportunity for all Miami Club members who aspire to serve on the board, to be able to offer themselves as candidates for election and chair appointments. Financially our board and our executive secretary-treasurer paid attention to our expenditures to insure that we stayed within budget and the parameters of our clubs annual income to avoid depleting our reserves by spending wisely as we would in our own organizations.

No doubt these will continue to be priorities of the Miami Club and it is with my great pleasure that at this month's March Installation Dinner & Annual General Meeting the clubs Presidential Chain will be passed on to "Captain" Haley Sofge with all our best wishes and support for the continued success of the SKAL International Miami Club!

Happiness, Good Health, Friendship, Long Life . . . SKAL!!
